Our sterilisation process for tweezers and other instruments

Sterilisation is the gold standard for instruments that touch the skin, while disinfection is the essential practice for everything else in the room.

  • Sterilisation is the complete elimination of all microbial life, including highly resistant bacterial spores. It is a medical-grade standard used for instruments that may come into contact with the skin. We use the highest standard Class B autoclave—a high-pressure steam steriliser—to ensure 100% germ-free tools for every session. This is inspected annually and is subject to a Written Scheme of Examination and daily tests to ensure operational efficiency for every cycle.

  • Disinfection reduces the number of harmful microorganisms to a safe level but does not typically kill spores. This process is used for environmental surfaces, such as treatment beds, trolleys, and lamps, which are meticulously disinfected between every client.

Our multi-step Sterilisation Process

  1. Manual Cleaning & Sanitisation: Tools are washed in warm water to remove any organic debris. They are then immersed in an enzymatic disinfection solution for a specified time.
  2. Ultrasonic Cleaning: Instruments are then placed in an ultrasonic cleaner, using sound waves to reach microscopic areas that hand-scrubbing might miss.
  3. Rinsing & Drying: Tools are thoroughly rinsed and dried, as any residual moisture can interfere with the final sterilisation.
  4. Autoclave Sterilisation: The final, most critical step. Cleaned and dried tools are placed in sterilisation pouches. Then to a medical-grade autoclave and subjected to high-pressure steam at 134°C for a specific cycle time.
  5. Verification: We use chemical indicators (TST strips) to confirm that the correct temperature, steam, and time were achieved for every single load.
  6. Aseptic Storage: Once sterile, tools remain sealed in their sterilisation pouches and are only opened when your treatment begins.
